First Steps Rifle


Course Description

The NRA FIRST Steps Rifle course is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to a rifle.   Four hours long, this course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a rifle. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular rifle model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals and cleaning. Students will receive the “Basics of Rifle Shooting” handbook, NRA “Gun Safety Rules” brochure, Winchester/NRA “Marksmanship Qualification” booklet, and FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.


Tuition covers the use of a rifle, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, classroom and range fees.

By purchasing this course, you are agreeing to the Cancellation Policy: All courses are non-refundable. With minimum ADVANCED notice of 48 hours, one course reschedule will be permitted for another future course date.  Students must be present for the duration of the course.  Please arrive promptly to keep the class on schedule.
