Longgun Qualification
This two hour course is designed to prepare the rifle/shotgun shooter to safely practice personal protection tactics utilizing a shotgun or modern rifle (AR or AK). Successful completion of the class will result in the issuance of a Longgun Qualification card that allows the member to shoot the Rifle/Shotgun skill practice and Defensive response drills on designated nights on the Tactical Range. Covered in the class are proper handling techniques; proper shooting positions and safety features of the firearm; Loading, reloading and clearing malfunctions
Equipment
Required:
- Firearm (AR/AK Rifle), (Semi-automatic or Pump Shotgun) in good working order and sighted in
- Minimum of three (3) magazines capable of holding ten (10) rounds or more
- Eye/hearing protection
- At least 40 rounds of appropriate target ammunition (shotgun shooters should use buckshot: Rifle shooters MUST purchase ammo from CSA
Prerequisites:
- Rifle: Introduction to the Modern Rifle or Defensive Carbine & VA Concealed Carry Permit
- Shotgun: Basic Defensive Shotgun & VA Concealed Carry Permit
